For Arguments Sake

I was given the argument of 'Veganism is stupid'. This didn't best please me as personally I don't really agree with this statement, but I argued for it anyway.

Here are a few of the slides.

Animation 4: Applied Animation - Week 14 - Documentary

I  began animating for the last scene originally I was planning on using a scene I had already animated but I realised it was backwards to the direction we needed. I also didnt really like it.

So i began by doing something different, making the girls stay in one place but moving still.

I sent this to our chat to make sure the team liked it, and I got a rather positive response. I then went on to line the art.

And then went on to colour them.

I did create an illustration on how i wanted the characters to look here, but due to poor time management i haven't had the time to colour them.

I did end up tweaking the designs in the animation just so that it worked a little better.

I also lined some of the animation chloe had done.

I finished this week by composting the animation fully, so that we are ready to hand in. Unfortunately i am unsure to whether or not the animation will be finished, but i am happy to continue working on it once we have handed in.

Here are all the shots i edited. They are missing text but hopefully they will be added before hand it.

We also didnt get our music in time, there for i found some filler music in the mean time that will do before we get our music.

Animation 4: Applied Animation - Week 13 - Documentary

This week I've been really busy.

I began by creating some drawings of signs which we could use for the skirt twirling scene.

Which Chloe then added text, which i then took and put onto the correct scene, and animated it so it looked as if they were being waved.

I also had a go with after affects. Now that we are happy with the dresses I can begin animating them moving.

I did a little research into how I could do that, and I came up with idea of using the puppet tool so that I could make the tabs move and keep the rest of the dress static.

I found this really interesting to do, as I hadn't really worked with after affects before and this gave me that chance to learn a new skill.

Animation 4: Applied Animation - Week 12 - Documentary

This week I changed all the dresses after noticing that the dresses no longer fitted on to the mannequin. I changed where the tabes were placed and also changed the thickness of the paper.

I began the opening scene of the animation this week, creating a walk cycle for the three women.
I sent both versions to the chat and had a very positive response to the zoomed in walk,  so I decided to start with that one. The other shot might be used for the ending seen with the woman dressed as though they are in the 60's.

I had finished the line work and Dotty, our tutor pointed out that they all looked very sad, so I decided to change the way there facial expression.

I also finished colouring the girls in, which i gave a painted sort of look to.

Chloe had also finished a scene of animation ready for me to do the line work and colour it, which I also completed this week.

I coloured the twirl in using a page of water colour texture I created and moved the angle so that the colours would differ slightly.

Animation 4: Applied Animation - Week 11 - Documentary

This week I we presented our work so far to the class.

I did a little research into streets during the times and found that there where a lot more smaller shops that where usually local little places during the 40s. And during the 60's they were a lot larger chain stores, such as M&S and Woolworths.

I also did some changes to the dresses, giving the paper cut out doll look a slight change again.

I then finished the animatic, ready for us to start animating.

It is only 55 seconds long, but I plan to animate the girls at the beginning in order to extend the timing of the film. We also noticed that the paper cut outs do not fit the mannequins there for I will have to change them again.

Animation 4: Applied Animation - Week 10 - Documentary

This week I continued with the dresses as I wanted the paper cut doll look to be perfect, and started making our presentation ready for next week.

I also had a conversation with Chloe regarding the name of our documentary. Which I then went and made a list of a few names.

Chloe looked over them and came up with the idea of Vintage Wardrobe: Decade to Decade, which I love.

Here I made a slight change to how the background of the paper doll look would look, but after discussing with my group we decided that this wasn't quite right. The edges where to thick and there are to many tabs.

Animation 4: Applied Animation - Week 9 - Documentary

Week 4 of Documentary work

I began this week by making some initial sketches of dress designs for the animation, I then sent them to our group chat to make sure everyone was happy with the initial designs.

 40's

 50's

 60's

I then began to create the actual dresses.

40's

50's

I looked at my last sketch and I decided it wasn't very fitting with the style of the era, the dresses length was to long, and not in keeping with the trend of the era.

So I made another 4 designs and put them in our chat so that everyone could choose which of them they liked the most. Which I got a response of  liking two of the dresses, which where the first and the third one in this ordering.

So I made both.

I made sure that each of them had the look of the paper dolls we had discussed earlier.

I'm more or less happy with the designs, but I may change some of the colours, to insure that they are in keeping with each decades choices of colours.
