Evalutation

I feel personally that I didn't do very well in some aspects of this brief. The beginning of the journey seamed to be the beginning of the problem. I started poorly, I managed my time badly and inevitably fell behind. However I did manage to get back on track, but still feel I could have done an awful lot better in this project and am disappointed in myself. Some aspects I do feel went relatively well, but on a whole I feel I've done poorly in this module.
Even so, I did learn a lot from the brief, especially regarding character design. I hadn't had much experience in character design before, and am happy to say I really enjoyed creating them. I loved using the shapes as a biases for the character as I really enjoyed fitting the shapes together, to see which looked best. Illustrating the character to go with the shapes was also very fun, as Its gave me complete control over how I felt the shapes expressed the personality of the character. I found creating the turn around to also be very enjoyable, I really like the way my character turned out. Creating the backstory for the character was one of the things I liked the most, giving him a past and a present was an interesting experience, and look forward to doing it again.
The more I studied the way people walk the more I wanted to learn about it. Doing the Flow, form and force brief I found that it became easier  to draw the structure of a person moving. I loved creating the minimalist sort of designs. Limited time frames where a fun challenge, when we could draw the person moving in such a small amount of time it gave a very different feeling to the drawing which was very interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed the project and want to do more like it in the future.
I feel I could have done the whole of the set, series, sequence project better, and could have taken more initiative in my work. I had a lot of downfalls during that brief, but I did over come some of them, as I worked hard on my storyboards to try and get the best out of what I had created.
For future modules I plan to work harder so that I am fully happy with the work I create. And will plan to keep on top of my work as much as possible. I also would like to keep a steady rhythm to my blog posts and make sure I upload regularly.  As for this module I feel I failed at keeping on top of  the posts I should have been making, but plan to better myself in the future.
In reflection, I did manage to get all of my work finished, but not up to the standards I know I could reach. There for this next upcoming project I will make lists too make sure I can tick all of the boxes and keep up with the work I'm meant to be doing.

Enviromental Drawings

We where given the brief of drawing images of the environment to better our background drawing skills.

I've decided to look into two or three areas to draw, some of the inside, and some of the outside. I drew images of The corn exchange in Leeds, Arely Mills, and a few images of an area in my home town called Bailey Hill. I decided to draw these areas because each has its own beauty. The corn exchange has a beautiful interior that is full of people. Armely mills has a lot of history and I wanted to do more images of nature instead of an industrial look, the same goes for Bailey Hill. I wanted to do some drawings that zoomed in on finnier detail in the interior, but looked into more of the wider aspects of the outside areas. I wanted a range of medias for the drawings, so I've used paint, pens, colours,  pencil, coloured pencils. My plan was to use a range of tones and colours and I think I've managed to do this with my drawings. I have known about the place I've  drawing in my town as its one of the biggest historical places in my town.

Form, Flow and Force - Squish and stretch

Focusing on squish and stretch aspects of this task, I asked people to become smaller and bigger so that I could see how the body moves correctly, when getting up and down.

Mutliple uses of media, using pen in different colours, coloured pencil, brush pen and graphite pencil.

I did really enjoy doing this task, as I personally prefer to draw people, so this project was right up my street.

Form, Flow and Force - Walking cycle.

This version of Form, flow and Force focuses on walking, two of these images are of people walking in a complete circle, and others are just of a person walking. Again I wanted to use multiple kinds of media, for this task I used charcoal, pen and pencil.

Form, Flow and Force - Poses

For this part of Form, flow and force, I focused more on the force aspect. Using different models and media, and draw people pushing and pulling against walls. I really enjoyed doing this, as I found seeing the differences in how the body reacts to pushing and pulling. I wanted to use more than one kind of media for this project and I don't want a series of exactly the same drawings.

Form, Flow and Force - Sitting Poses.

Here are the images from the Form, Flow and Force Project, these images are done in around 20-30 minutes, some are lying down, others are people sitting.

I've tried to do the images in a different style and media each time, may that be adding shading or using pens instead of pencil.

Faciel Expressions

Here is a page of mitch doing some faciel expressions, I wanted to see him in a range of emotions so I tried to fill the page as much as I could. I'm happy with the way these look, and like the diversity.

Sketch Book drawings.

I've been studding hands recently, because I want to better my ability to draw them. I found sitting in cafes was good way too see how people rest their hands and use them normally. At the beginning  my drawings where awful, but I found with time, they improved.

Set, Series, Sequence.

I want to document more of the Set series sequence project as I feel I didn't go into a lot of detail with what I did.  To begin I made a list of ideas in my sketch book that related to the word I had been given, which was crystal, I thought long and hard about what things could and couldn't be related, and even did some little doodles that I thought could help inspire me later on. Having such a broad topic it was difficult to narrow down which things I should look into. So taking some of these ideas I created 24 drawings relating to crystals.
Here are some of the 24 drawings.

From there I decided to choose the image of the wizard to elaborate onto. I liked his design and wanted to see how I could take it further. So I did 12 images caring on from there, here are some of the twelve.

I feel I could have done better if I'm honest with these.

From there we where given the task of creating a story board. I had a lot of trouble with this. I did sevril versions but finally settled with one after many, MANY attempts. Here is the story board.

Here are the final boards, I feel I could have done better with this task, but I plan to work harder in my next brief.
